DNA research has become a major part of medical science. What we learn from DNA can revolutionize care. That’s why it is important to establish a repository of DNA samples for major conditions. The latest example is an arrangement with Rutgers where samples will be collected from 2,000 families that have a single autistic child. Samples will come to Rutgers from all around the country. They’ll be looking not only at autism that is passed from generation to generation, but also autism that derives from sporadic cases.
