Can allergies lead to hair loss? Well, this one definitely is a stretch. I’ve heard people say it, but here’s what happens. Some people have allergic reactions which then can lead to skin issues. For instance, if you have eczema or psoriasis or some sort of folliculitis, those types of things actually can affect the growth of the hair. What happens is there is a problem called alopecia areata, where people lose hair but that is not allergic mediated. However, it is somehow related to the immune system. It’s a stretch, but it could happen.
